So.. Now it is time to tell me what your Paladin spec of choice is! Yes, you have to pick one and only one (sorry). If you don’t HAVE a pally (like me), pick the one you prefer to have in your party/raid/guild. Then come back here and discuss..

Having been “nearly” all of the specs (went ret up till lvl 32) I would say although a pally is THE aoe tank of choice…I still think having a single target healer that wears plate makes them truly warriors of the light.
Guess what I chose? >_<
Trae was my first and has always been my favorite toon. I spent many levels with various talents specs which seemed mostly into the ret area simply to try to get some damage abilities out of him. Once I started doing MC raiding, he was full holy and (I’d like to think) a quite good healer.
One day, I actually did a group with a tank specced paladin and saw what a pally can really do. Since I had a tank already (warrior), it was a hard decision (and albeit expensive one), collected all the gear I could muster, switched out some gems, repecced to tank and fell immediately in love.
I am however pretty disappointed with the lack of gear available for a spell based tank as compared to other classes, but for now, until major changes come in, will never go back.
It’s AOE tank all the way. I can must more aggro on a mob than most warriors, long range taunt, multiple mob aggro, buff abilities, emergency healing (severly limited mana pool), and have a few times been able to save the a wipe with pure survivability.
I’d like blizz to look at giving the pally tank some help with being silenced since most aggro is spell based, but hey, we got almost everything else going for us
