The Basin is In

Much happened last night! I started out by doing the daily cooking quest and then hopped on the special flight from Dalaran to Sholazar Basin. There is a mage by the flight point that sends you there as part of a quest. The zone is really cool, very reminiscent of Un’goro but better. The jungle setting with all the animals is a skinner’s dream, btw.

I plowed through the quests there, enjoying the stacks and stacks of leather I got from just killing the mobs for the quests. Meat, leather, what’s not to love? I also tamed a rhino there (since they were close to my level already) and named him … DanMa.. I won’t spoil why I named him that just yet.. Lets just say it has something to do with American Football.

So…. Anyway.. There were lots of pretty awesome quest lines so far. I finished up the Nesingwary one and got the achievement for that. And also did one in the east section of the zone with the Avatar of Freya. That one ended pretty well too!

I’m now on the questline that ends with you picking a faction in the area, but I’ve just started, so I’ll have to let you know the outcome. I finally logged out pretty late but still short of leveling to 78. I was about 114k or so away, but I just couldn’t continue. I’ll pick that up first thing tonight and then finish up the quest line in SB. Once I am done, I”ll probably move to Zul’Drak and then Stormpeaks as the final push to 80. The rest of the quests/zones will be reserved for gold at level 80.

Looks like we are going to start our Raiding cycle again on Jan 2. The plan is to run a 25-man Naxx. We’re only doing guild runs of 25s. If other want to put together a 10-man run of something, that is fine too, but it won’t be an “official” event. Jan 2 gives us time to get enough of the right classes up to 80 (I’ll probably have at least 2 toons, if not more, up to that point by then) to head in with 25.
