Interestingly, we went back into Kara last night to finish it up.. Oh wait, that isn’t so interesting.. Well, no more so than usual (or is that unusual?).. We did pretty good all told. We had some issues with the Shade. We wiped once, but then got him down on the second attempt. It wasn’t what I would call “pretty”, but then again who cares.. :)

The other bosses went down like clockwork. Prince, Netherspite, and even Nightbane were all one-shotted. It was even almost like “easy-mode” on Nightbane for a change finally. I ended up picking up the healing chestpiece from Nightbane for Fyra since nobody else wanted it. The helm token dropped from the Prince also (Warrior, Druid, Priest) but not only did I lose the roll (by 1) to the priest, but I even passed it up after he offered it to me anyway. A holy priest is nice to have and he needs the gear much more than Fyra does at this point (this was his first Kara run).

We skipped Illhoof because of the party makeup and the fact that some of the people had to get going. Afterwards, I did some of the quests in Searing Gorge with Fizz and Furis. They were generally “alright” if a bit boring (as usual.. :P ). I have to say that re-speccing Furis to Prot was really the right way to go. He is holding aggro wonderfully and he can tank 2 or 3 mobs at the same time without batting an eye. I can see why Prot Pallys have been having so much fun.. :) With WotLK I will probably have his dual-spec be prot/healing and collect gear for both (since we will be able to “switch” easier supposedly).

WoWScrnShot_090408_222457 Doing all the quests there and a couple others I had left in the Hinterlands I got them up to the ripe old age of 52! A few more levels to go.  I might just go ahead and start gifting levels to my warrior and get that out of the way.. I was thinking I might wait so that the warlock can gift ones at the lower level as she levels.  It might be easier.  But then I definitely can’t level the pally at all until later.

I have heard from the grapevine that the 60-70 leveling will be drastically sped up when 3.0.2 patch comes out. Looking forward to that.  My goal right now is to have one of each class to 60 at least by WotLK comes out. I’m pretty sure my rogue will be 70 (he is still sitting at 66, but we’ll be progressing again soon and it shouldn’t take long to ding 70.

I also need to go back at some point and work on leveling Jewelcrafting on my rogue again (he’s still pretty low.. :( ) and also Engineering on my mage. Those I really want to get to 375 sooner or later. Also on the docket is going back to popping out a few daily quests here and there.  I could use the cash still. Anyway, tonight we are supposed to head back into SSC for a second try at the Lurker. Wish us luck!

Blown Away

Posted by Fimlys on 20th August 2008

Ok, no.. I wasn’t.  I live in the part of the US that recently (as in it is still going on) has been hit by a little thing called Fay. Fay is a Tropical Storm. She dumps lots of rain on us and makes it a little breezy outside.  However, I was not carted off to Oz (unless Opera Event is what you are talking about) and I’m still here.  I hadn’t posted in a couple of days due to “too much to do” syndrome with work and home and podcast.

Arokkoa_081908_012710But.. Lots has happened. Just a quick summary. Got my rogue, Freez, to level 64 as of last night! He is moving along nicely.  We are just getting started in Terokkar now (we finished HP and ZM already except for instances). A few more weeks and he should be seeing level 70.. Wow, my 4th.. Can’t believe it personally.

Freez_081808_012315I also have gotten my mage Fizz and paladin Furis up to level 24 each. For some reason I am on an alt kick.  I still like playing all my 70s, but it is interesting to learn the other classes a little more too. Fizz is finally getting some of the more cool mage talents although I still have no idea what I am doing spec-wise.  I am leveling frost as I have been told that is the easiest and so far it’s going fine.

Last night the guild went into Gruul’s and… we had 25 people! There were actually >25 level 70s on at the time we started which was really really awesome. We one-shot the HK (Fyra tanked Kiggler and I had a really fun time doing so..) but could not get Gruul down. We got him to 9% on the last try! Next week, I think we can do it…

FirstAV_082008_022651 OH! Brought Fhuun into my first ever AV last night with Jess. It was pretty awesome.. I only did it once, but we won! And it was pretty quick too… Alliance had 1 more player than the Horde and it took about 21 minutes.. I had more healing than damage, but not by much! Healing AV is really tough with everyone running out of LOS all the time… I died 3 times and got the Killing Blow 5 times! Woot! Go Holy Priest!

Tonight is the start of the weekly Kara run that I am leading.  We’re bringing in some new folks, so we’ll see how it goes. Then Friday is an attempt at SSC. Hopefully we get the same turnout as we did last night.. We might even be able to move past the Lurker.  I’ll try to get back into the swing of things now.. Hopefully talk to you tomorrow.

A “Burning” Desire..

Posted by Fimlys on 30th July 2008

Last night was a “nostalgia” night in Mythos although I didn’t set foot inside MC until well after TBC (I took a hiatus from WoW for a while when I hit 59 or so. We dragged ~14 of us kicking and screaming into the fiery pit of doom! It was a blast. I have to say I was really tired and given that most of the fights I was either de-cursing the whole time or just spamming wrath (cuz I was enjoying myself and not caring as much about mana) I think I fell asleep for about 10 seconds a few times.  (Yes, I brought Fyra)

We only wiped once on the Baron because we just really weren’t paying attention I think.  Tanks and melee were staying in on the big blow up thing and I missed my “pot” button on the way down from being thrown up in the air (and subsequently was the first or second to die.. bah).

Golemagg_073008_003314 When we got to Rag, there was a point at which I took over some healing since most of the healers had been blown away and were trying to get back into the fight. Of course, given the healing aggro I picked up, I got smoked by his little adds when he submerged. I got a battle rez and then rezzed our rogue and we took the big dude down!  It was pretty awesome all in all and the one non-70 we brought (an alt hunter of one of our tanks) got 4 Giantstalker pieces!  It was pretty funny.

But anyway.  Again, it was a good time and I think we all appreciated the “break” it gave from the normal grinding/farming/raiding/instancing/etc. Tonight it’s back to Kara. I signed Fyra up and actually am hoping to be able to go. She still really needs a TON of badges and still doesn’t have the T4 helm (of course that would be the Thursday part of the run anyway).

Hammer_073008_011544 I finally got Freez up to >300 enchanting and also went and got his Master level of enchanting skill.. Now it is just a matter of picking which enchants I’m going to do to level myself up.  I already got to 310 doing +ap to my bracers.  Since it uses Arcane Dust and I had > 400…. I should (hopefully) have enough mats to get me up pretty high.  We’ll just have to see. I’m sure I will also be getting even more of those mats as he levels up and upgrades gear.  Since I can d/e my own soulbound greens/blues/purples.. :D  Exciting times, eh?
