Asleep at the WoW

Well.. Actually it’s 3.. As in 3v3.. I’ve had this 3v3 team (KillSomething) languishing on Fimlys for a while.  Traebear, Kezz and I put it together at one point, but were disillusioned pretty quickly.  I kept it though and we put it to use last night.  Well, a different “we”. 

The group consisted of Wickum (Tree Drood), Fyra (Boom Drood) and a DPS Warrior.  We started at 1500 (since the new season) and ended at 1467. We went 4-6 which isn’t bad for a team that hadn’t played these toons together before.  I think I am finally getting the hang of my abilities and when to use them.  We’ll see how things go next week..

Ok.. flash back to earlier that evening and Heroic Shattered Halls. One Pally Tank, one holy priest, 2 mages (arcane & fire) and 1 Boomy Boomkin. We had a great time only wiped on the final boss due to bad placement.  (well, there was one other accidental pull, but the pally DI’ed the priest before we wiped, so no runback)

Nothing dropped that I could use, but I did finish the quest to get the Urn to summon Nightbane. Now all 3 of my 70s can do it.  And I have the quest to get the nice gem when I kill him next.. Woot!

Anyway.. Soooo, that’s it for last night. Tonight is, hopefully, another run at SSC. Maybe if we can get the group together a little faster we can actually have a few more shots at the Lurker. Eh, I suppose we will see.. With a lot of new healers coming up now, I might someday be able to bring Fimlys back into there or maybe even Fyra (which would be quite awesome).. I suppose we shall see.. :D  Later all!

Once again, It has happened. It keeps happening. I don’t know why. I can’t stop it! Every week. Like clock-work. The weekend is over!!! And it is time for me to get back to the real world (Whatever that is).

So, what did I do this weekend?  Well, I cleaned up my office.  Made it a little quieter for the podcast “tapings”. And… I “rebuilt” one of my home servers (new MB/Proc/Mem). Recorded Episode 3. Oh.. and I played WoW.. (of course)

Friday night we were trying to get back into Gruul’s to take down the big boss (only got HK down on tues). We were unsuccessful in getting enough peeps online to even attempt it. So… Instead we put together an ad-hoc Kara run to which Fhuun was invited.

The run wasn’t too bad. There were a lot of unnecessary deaths (mostly to the healers of course) but we progressed.  I had to go just before we hit the Curator (recording our special guest) but another healer stepped in and they did fine. We finished that run on Saturday, but didn’t get Illhoof, Nightbane or Maiden.  I once again had to log out (this time around 1) so we could finish taping the show.

Sunday I spent a lot of the day editing and then tried to get a Z’A run going when I logged in at the normal time.  We had a lack of the rightly geared people on (and a missing MT), so we had to scrub it. Instead I took Fimlys into an Heroic Magister’s Terrace run and then Fyra into a Heroic Shattered Halls run. I know… FIMLYS! I really forgot how to run instances with him.. By the end of the run though, I was chain trapping like the good ol’ days.  Only the 3rd “boss”(es) gave us any difficulty (LOTS OF DIFFICULTY) because we got BOTH warriors.. Bah!

In Shattered Halls, Fyra got the Trial of the Na’ru quest done (to get the axe in SH) but the “timed” quest bugged on us and didn’t let us complete it.  We also had a lot more wipes than we are used to, but learned how to do some of the larger pulls in there (after the gauntlet) without causing wipes. (LOS them around the corner.)  For the last boss, I even popped out of Boomkin and started healing when Pil went down (our priest).  I had (under orders) battle rezzed Stopitnow (our rogue) prior to that occurrence and so didn’t have it when healer goes boom. I ran out of mana healing just as the boss went down.. .(WOOT!)

Amazingly enough (probably because of Hunter/Rogue deaths), Fyra came out looking pretty good against better geared DPS in the group. Woot! She is getting there.

I’m hoping that now I am “back” from my conference I will have more time to put up some more “useful” posts. Tonight is Monday night and that means.. Uh.. Not really sure.  I think most people do their Arena runs. I also need to talk to the RL to see when we can reschedule Z’A.  Sunday just doesn’t seem to be working for us.

I’ll hopefully have another poll up by the end of the day.. I think it might be Z’A related! Have a good one!

Dailies… Farming… Who am I and what did I do with Fim?  I don’t do dailies.. I don’t farm (if I can help it).. But what did I find myself doing last night? Dailies in SSO (with Fyra) and Farming in Nagrand (with Fimlys).

After picking up a few clefthoof leather, I got a group together to run Fyra through Magister’s Terrace. We did pretty well.  We had a Warrior tank, Stopitnow (Rogue), Mystii (Trae’s Mage), Karine (Kezz’s Resto Druid) and Fyra (Moonkin Druid). We did pretty well for most of the instance. We had some issues with the second boss (It was probably me) and Kael was a big pain in the butt. We also wiped once on the trash before Kael, but the second time when Karine died, I remembered I had my battle rez. :) 

When we got to Kael, we had many issues with the air phase (as usual).  The 2 druids took a header too quick and the rest were left without healers.  After quite a few wipes, Karine and Mystii swapped out for Kezz and Pil.. :)  Then it was cake.. :D  I still died right away, but I did so in process of taking out the egg while in the air.. We got him down, so I didn’t die for nothing.

Afterwards, some guildies were looking for a tank and healer for Shattered Halls.  Fhuun needs rep in there, so Trae and I went in to help them out. It was a pretty fast run with only 1 death the whole time and I think I was half-asleep for the entire run. Overall it was pretty fun.

After that, I talked to a couple of guys that I had done some quests with in SMV with Fyra and asked if they wanted to do the Gorefiend’s Armor quest and finish up that line. “Sure!”, they said. It was getting pretty late, but I flew over there and we 3-manned the “little” ghost dragon and went back to finish up the quest line. Got my Antler Hat out of the deal.. Sexy Sexy..

It was a good night. Got a lot of stuff done and my money reserves are going up up up.. A few days of dailies and I could have my epic flying skill.. Tonight is the start of the first Kara run of the week. I’d like to bring Fyra if I can, but we’ll see what we need. I still need to re-spec her for instances/raids and I need a few gems for some of the stuff I got last night. I’ll let you know how it goes! (I always do)…
